BAKER — In a scene repeated thousands of times in the small gym, former Baker School basketball star Chad Donley gracefully fires up a jump shot and the ball gently tickles the bottom of the net as it goes through the hoop Friday afternoon. The Club Challengers U14 team has had an eventful season, competing in, and winning, the Heart of Dixie tournament in Montgomery, Ala., the Club Fusion tournament in Panama City and the March Madness tournament in Pensacola. CRESTVIEW — Roman Donofro supplied the pitching and Tate Sweatt the power Tuesday as the Crestview High School baseball team took on Niceville in the District 2-6A tournament semifinals.Donofro went the distance on the mound throwing a five-hit shutout and striking out 11 Eagle batters. And Sweatt had a pair two-run doubles as the Bulldogs rolled to a 6-0 win to earn a spot in the state playoffs.

BAKER — A high school basketball player’s speed, jumping ability and team spirit will help her at the college level, coaches said. Baker School girls basketball coach Brian Wagner said that Cassidy Anderson, 18, has experience playing multiple positions, which also will make her beneficial to William Carey University.
