UPCOMING: Local student shares CWS memory with Dean

Matthew Overly of Crestview is pictured with Blake Dean at an LSU baseball practice during the College World Series. Matthew, who will be a fifth grade student at Bob Sikes Elementary this fall, had the opportunity to met Dean and attend the College World Series while visiting his grandparents near Omaha, Neb., last month Blake is a former Crestview High School baseball standout, who helped lead the LSU Tigers to the College World Series Championship. The Minnesota Twins recently drafted Dean.

“It shows all the work we did paid off, and you’re excited about all the things you accomplish,” said Dean, a former Crestview star.
