Man held on $100,000 bond after aiming gun at wife, son

A Walton County man was in jail Sunday night after firing his .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun multiple times during the hallway of his home on County Road 280A, just outside of DeFuniak Springs.

He had been arguing with his wife and son and throwing items around prior to getting out his gun, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office. Deputies could hear him yelling at his wife and 17-year-old son when they arrived, according to a press release.

David Dossey told sheriff's deputies that he had hit his wife with a closed fist and a shoe because she didn't help him clean the house, according to a Sheriff's Office press release. He also said he hit his son in the face. Both were bruised, but not seriously injured.

After firing the weapon down the hallway, Dossey reportedly aimed at his wife and son, the release said.

Dossey was booked into the Walton County Jail on Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, Aggravated Battery, and Battery. The suspect’s bond has been set at $100,000.
