Turn lane construction at U.S. 90 and CR 393

Construction is underway on U.S. Highway 90 near Mossy Head in Okaloosa County to construct an eastbound left turn lane and a westbound, right turn at CR 393, according to an Okaloosa County press release. Crews from Coastal Materials of Alabama, Inc. have completed work to temporarily shift traffic to widen the roadway to accommodate for turn lanes. Currently, workers are installing a barrier wall. Drivers can expect intermittent lane restrictions to occur. The project should be complete by October 2008. Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.

Once completed, these very nice turn lanes will lead you to HWY 393. one of the worse roads in the county! Traveling this road daily will beat the suspension out of your vehicle. after a good rain I have dodged softball sized chunks of pavement. you'll be able to get on it more conveniently now though.
