CPD receives crisis training

The Crestview Police Department on Thursday participated in the first of two days of training this week on crisis response to violence.

The timing of the program — two days after the shooting death of Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Forgione when he and other members of the Okaloosa County Special Response team tried to apprehend a man who walked out of a mental health institution in Fort Walton Beach — was coincidence. The program had been scheduled some time ago.
