3 Crestview men arrested on armed burglary charge

Three suspects in an armed burglary in Crestview Friday afternoon have been arrested.

Crestview residents Daquarious Buggs and Devantae Coleman, both 17, and Terron James, 20 are charged with felony armed burglary, grand theft, criminal mischief and resisting arrest without violence.

Members of the Crestview Police Department responded to a home on Kenneth Avenue about 1 p.m. Friday in reference to a burglary that had already occurred.

A resident told police the house had been burglarized earlier in the week and had been broken into again Friday.

While at the house, investigators noticed three suspects walking out of the woods and entering the back of the property where the burglary took place, a police report states. Officers then saw the suspects, who had not yet noticed the police, walk to the back of the house. The three suspects fled on foot when confronted by police into woods behind the house.

Police searched the woods for about an hour before arresting two of the suspects. The third suspect was arrested at his home shortly afterwards, the report states.

Police said they recovered a high-powered pellet gun, scope and ammunition from the home of one of the suspects. The gun was later identified as belonging to the victim of the burglary. Other items recovered included a shotgun removed from a gun cabinet house where the burglary occurred and police said it appeared that the suspects were returning to retrieve the remaining items.

Booking information on the suspects was not yet listed early Friday evening on the Okaloosa County Jail website.
