Crestview resident charged with dealing in stolen property
A Crestview resident is charged with dealing in stolen property after a handgun reported stolen was found in his automobile.
Adam Dale Parkison, 20, is scheduled to appear in court March 2.
Officers with the Crestview Police Department were questioning Parkison on an unrelated case Jan. 27 when he gave consent to search his automobile.
One of the officers spotted a white and black bandana wrapped tightly around an object behind the passenger’s seat and asked Parkison what was inside the bandana, the report states.
“Once Parkison realized what I was pointing to he (used a curse word),” the report states.
Parkison told the officer there was a handgun in the bandana, that it was stolen and that he was holding it for a friend, according to the report.
A dispatcher ran the serial number through a database and it came back as stolen out of Okaloosa County.
Parkison was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail and was released later that day on a $2,500 bond.
