CPD's Schneider promoted to lieutenant
CRESTVIEW — The Crestview City Council chamber was a sea of blue as a substantial contingent of city police officers turned out to watch one of their own get promoted.
“I might as well take this,” joked Police Chief Brian Mitchell as he removed Officer Andrew Schneider’s patrolman’s badge.
In a few minutes Mayor David Cadle replaced it with that of a lieutenant.
“We’re proud of this occasion as we recognize one of our own coming up through the ranks,” Cadle said in his brief remarks.
“Leadership is an attitude, not a routine,” the mayor said. “I want to challenge you guys: We had a good year but we can’t rest on our laurels. Let’s keep raising those standards of professional law enforcement in Crestview.
“We’re excited that this young man is rising to lieutenant and has done those things that caught the attention of his superiors,” Cadle said. “A good leader will inspire confidence in the troop and in himself.”
