Headless panther found along road
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A headless panther was found along the Florida turnpike in central Florida.
Wildlife officials are seeking information from the public about the panther found decapitated in Osceola County Friday afternoon. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers responded to a report of a dead animal about 2 p.m.
The remains were partially decomposed.
Florida panthers are endangered animals. Wildlife officials counted about 117 of the animals in the state in 2008.
