Witnesses on scene said the driver of a Hyundai was northbound on S.R. 85 when the driver of a Buick pulled out from Hammock Road into its path.
“The Buick came across the road really fast,” Baker resident Connie Givens said, adding that the Buick began to roll after it was struck. “It rolled at least two times, maybe three,” Givens said.
The Buick’s passenger side door was caved in and there was damage to the front of the Hyundai. The Buick came to rest upside down adjacent to Industrial Drive, which runs parallel to S.R. 85.
Crestview resident said Ronald Money said he saw the Buick as it was hit.
“It just started rolling,” Money said.
One witness said there were two occupants in the Hyundai and one in the Buick and that, of the three, only the driver of the Hyundai was unhurt. The number of occupants in the cars has not been confirmed.
The Florida Highway Patrol was on scene conducting an investigation.
A school resource officer with Crestview High School was also at the scene of the accident but it is not known if any of those involved in the wreck were students at the school.
