Crestview restaurant wins national award
Chinese Restaurant News announced that Crestview's Golden Asia Buffet, located at 2680 S. Ferdon Blvd., was named as one of the nation’s Top 100 buffets. The announcement was made at the 8th Annual Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the USA awards show held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.
Golden Asia Buffet offers Americanized Chinese cuisine with a special twist. Making sure to integrate traditional recipes with new trends, the restaurant offers menu items that are prepared in a healthy manner using only the finest and freshest ingredients, according to a press release.
Keeping in line with owner Chun Chen’s emphasis on healthy dining, dishes are prepared with no MSG and little salt and oil. As a fusion restaurant that also serves Thai cuisine, Golden Buffet’s sophisticated chefs are also adept at preparing Thai dishes. Some customer favorites include Pad Thai, Spicy Relish and Spicy Cabbage.
Celebrating its eighth year, the Top 100 awards competition has made great strides in helping to raise standards in the Chinese culinary culture industry, organizers said. Golden Buffet is an extraordinary example of one restaurant that has been quite successful at providing a great dining experience to those curious about Chinese culture, the press release states.
To qualify for a Top 100 award, restaurants must receive positive industry or customer recognition and must be in business a minimum of two years. Restaurant menus also must consist of at least 50 percent Chinese cuisine, except for those qualifying in the Asian Restaurants category. The final results are tabulated with mystery diners’ scores from an independent third party and direct votes from the public at large.
The Top 100 competition is open to all Chinese restaurants in the U.S., Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Participating restaurants include newly established restaurants, seasoned restaurants, chain restaurants and past award-winners.
