CRESTVIEW – A 33-year-old woman faces a Dec. 18 court date after being arrested Nov. 29 for stealing from Walmart. She was charged with misdemeanor retail theft.

According to a Crestview Police Department arrest report, a Walmart loss prevention officer saw the woman enter the store and place clothes into a plastic bag she was holding, which contained other items. He said he saw the woman leave the store without paying.

About $100 worth of merchandise found in the bag included a Cher “Greatest Hits” CD and Richard Marx “A Night Out with Friends” CD, one Miller Lite 24-ounce can of beer, a hat, a pair of jean shorts, a long-sleeve shirt and a girl’s dress.

The loss prevention officer also said the woman was wearing one pair of And 1 black tennis shoes, which he said she admitted to taking from the shoe department. She left behind the shoes she entered the store with.

According to the arresting officer, the woman admitted to stealing the items because she said she wanted to have nice things and a Christmas present for her daughter. The woman also admitted to having a problem with drugs and smoking crack cocaine, according to the arrest report.
