Motorcyclist flees police, heads for home
CRESTVIEW -- A motocyclist who accelerated and tried to elude police during a Nov. 16 traffic stop yelled and cursed at the Crestview Police Department officers who followed him to his house. He had hidden the bike by the side of a garage on Purl Adams Avenue.
Rowley Mersino denied trying to elude police, but later said his license was suspended and he didn't want his bike to be towed, according to his arrest report.
"I just went to Waffle House to get something to eat," he told them. He had a Waffle House carryout container strapped to his bike.
Mersino was charged with felony fleeing from police, as well as misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle while your license is suspended and operating a vehicle with no registration.
