Morning drug bust nets two pounds of marijuana
CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Street Crimes Unit served a search warrant early Friday morning, netting three suspects and more than two pounds of marijuana.
Lt. Joseph Floyd, the unit’s commander, said three black males were detained during the search of a residence at 120 Jacobs Dr.
Floyd said $6,643 in drug proceeds were recovered.
Kevin Michael Smith was charged with possession of marijuana. Also arrested during the 4:30 a.m. raid were Joseph Ignatius Stevens (charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug dealing equipment); and Steven Anthony Smith, brother of Kevin Michael, (for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute).
“It was really busy this morning, that’s for sure,” said CPD Maj. Richard Long. “It was a heck of a way to start a Friday morning. The last two days, the Street Crime Unit have been swooping down and getting the work done.”
