Sheriff's lieutenant charged with 120 counts of sexual battery (with mug)
A lieutenant with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is charged with 120 counts of sexual battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 18, according to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement press release.
The FDLE arrested John Mitchell Tomlinson, 46, of Navarre for sexual battery, a first degree felony, the release states.
“On March 3, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office asked FDLE to investigate allegations Tomlinson had inappropriate relations with a minor,” the release states.
Tomlinson was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail on an $845,000 bond. His arrest is not posted on the jail’s Web site.
The Office of State Attorney William “Bill” Eddins, 1st Judicial Circuit, assisted in the investigation and will prosecute the case, according to the release.
