Laurel Hill city manager announces resignation plans
LAUREL HILL – Laurel Hill City Manager Tim Bolduc announced Thursday he intends to offer his resignation by October.
“I said when I came here if we got to the end of the year and the city was going to suffer by my staying, I would bow out gracefully, so that’s what this budget has in it,” said Bolduc, who made the announcement after a council member noticed a reduction in city salaries on the proposed budget during a city council budget workshop.
“All over the county, people in my position will have tough decisions as far as what positions to cut. Here, it made the most sense for me to be that position. I’d love to stay, but I think it’s in the best interest of the city and probably for me, too.”
Bolduc said he will have city employees up to speed on essential duties before his departure.
Mayor James Dunn made it clear he considers Bolduc’s departure a big loss to the city.
“I would like to take whatever your salary is and add it to the budget,” Dunn said.
