FOOD DRIVE ENDS AUG. 29: First Baptist Church of Holt is having their Fourth Annual Food Drive for the church's food and clothing pantry.
All items collected in the Crestview area will be donated to First Baptist Church of Holt for distribution to the community.
You can donate items or help distribute donation bags. Simply place your nonperishable food items in the bags located in Emerald Coast Hospice's office at 131 E Redstone Ave., Ste 110, Crestview.
The group will be collecting the donations this week. They appreciate your donations.
FISHING BENEFIT: A fishing tournament to benefit Baker teen Dillon Crawford will be held Aug. 30 on the State Road 20 bridge in Bruce, on the Choctawhatchee. Dillon, 14, was injured in an ATV accident June 28. He currently remains in rehabilitation and physical therapy at Children’s Health Care of Atlanta.
The tournament begins at safe daylight and will last until 3 p.m. Entry fee is $75. Payback is 50 percent to the top three places. Enter a Big Fish competition for $10 with 100 percent payback. Raffle tickets will be available in the community and at the tournament for many prizes. You do not need to be at the tournament to win. Tickets are $2 apiece or three tickets for $5.

HOBO FESTIVAL UPDATE: Fish Fry - Saturday Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at the 1905 Gallery, U.S. Highway 85, Laurel Hill.
Sorrelli Drawing - 1 ticket for $2 or 3 for $5. Tickets available at 1905 Gallery.
A $1,000 shopping spree drawing at Jay's Guns & Accessories, 366 S. Main Street, Crestview. Tickets can be purchased at Jay's or the 1905 Gallery.
Hobo Festival Motorcycle Poker Run ($1,000 to win) which will take place on Oct. 11 at Gene Clary Park in Laurel Hill.
Hobo Festival Car Show & Shine to be held during the Hobo Festival on Oct. 11, at Gene Clary Park in Laurel Hill.
They still need vendors for the Hobo Festival, food, arts, crafts, etc.

QUARTER BINGO: The Crestview Knights of Columbus is now offering Quarter Bingo every Tuesday. The games run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The K of C hall is located at 701 James Lee Boulevard, Crestview. Come join the fun.
FIRST TUESDAY LECTURES: at the Crestview library on Commerce Drive include a Sept. 2 presentation on Florida's Best Gardening Season by Larry Williams of the U. of F. Okaloosa County Extension Office.
Lectures are held the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30a .m. in the library meeting room.
