Girl charged with battery after school orientation incident

CRESTVIEW - A 16-year-old Crestview High School girl was charged with battery and disruption of a school function for slapping another girl in the face during the New Student/New Parent Orientation on Aug. 15.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report, the ninth-grade student slapped the other girl "without provocation" in front of numerous students and parents.
The girl has been ordered to appear in court Sept. 24.
