Fla. educator allegedly sent teen nude picture
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — An assistant high school principal has been arrested for allegedly sending a nude photo of herself to a 14-year-old boy in Manatee County.
The Hillsborough County School District has barred Lauren S. Tilo from returning to work while it investigates.
The 30-year-old was arrested Thursday and charged with transmission of material harmful to a minor.
Deputies say Tilo met the boy while playing the online game “World of Warcraft.” The two became friends, despite their age difference, and Tilo allegedly text-messaged the photo in March.
The boy told a school guidance counselor about it Wednesday, though authorities wouldn’t say what prompted the disclosure.
Tilo was released on $10,000 bond. She did not immediately return a telephone message left Saturday by The Associated Press.
