Fla. man charged with attack at golf course

LONGWOOD, Fla. (AP) — A man has been charged with attacking an employee at a central Florida golf course, allegedly stabbing the pro shop worker with scissors and beating him with a golf club.

Seminole County sheriffs deputies found 43-year-old Joseph Frank Evan wearing bloody clothing on the putting green Monday.

He faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, burglary involving an assault or battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Timothy Guinane told authorities he was at the Rolling Hills Golf Club when Evan tried to throw a bench through a window. According to arrest reports, Guinane recognized Evans and opened the door.

Authorities said Evans hit and kicked 49-year-old Guinane, who suffered a broken nose and blood on the brain.

It's unclear what caused the alleged attack.
