Fla. education officials discuss FCAT review

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — State education officials say that a preliminary review of Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test results indicates that they are within historical ranges and are likely accurate.

A final audit of the scores could be ready by next week.

State education officials met Thursday with seven superintendents and five testing specialists from all over Florida to go the results from two independent audits of the scores.

Superintendents from Broward, Miami-Dade, Hillsborough, Duval and Leon counties asked for an investigation of this year’s scores and a delay in the release of school grades after noticing what they termed as anomalies in their FCAT data.
