Congressional candidates announce endorsements

The candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives 1st District seat announced endorsements they have received.

Incumbent U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller (R-Chumuckla) was one of a few dozen lawmakers in the House or Senate to win the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award” for 2007 from the National Taxpayers Union.

The NTU is a non-partisan, non-profit group that works for lower taxes, smaller government and economic freedom at all levels.

The Florida AFL-CIO Endorsing Convention has voted to endorse the candidacy of James E. “Jim” Bryan, the Democratic nominee for the 1st District U.S. House of Representatives race.

The federation is an umbrella group representing 11 labor and professional organizations
