Busy weekend for Street Crimes Unit
The Crestview Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit was busy over the weekend.
A series of drug busts netted, among others, a pair of repeat offenders.
On Friday morning the unit served a search warrant at 578 M.L. King Jr. Ave. and arrested residents Kea Sontrice Bess, 29, and Nakia “Kiki” Latease Bradshaw, 18.
Bess and Bradshaw had been arrested in January for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a public housing facility.
Friday’s bust netted 7 grams of cocaine and a 1 gram of marijuana.
Bradshaw and Bess were charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a place of worship, as their residence is located about 100 feet from Macedonia Baptist Church.
Friday afternoon the unit served a search warrant at 204 Lakeview Drive, arresting three people on narcotics-related charges.
Terrance Terrell Johnson, 29, was “detained in the bathroom attempting to flush marijuana down the toilet,” his arrest report stated.
A search of the residence turned up 17 grams of marijuana, including some recovered from the toilet, and 29 grams of marijuana seeds and stems.
Also arrested was Johnson’s wife Dierdre Renee Horton, 28, who told officers “she has observed her husband with marijuana in the residence on numerous occasions.
A resident of Memphis, Tenn., Willie Bob Daniels, 24, was arrested as he left the residence upon officers’ approach.
Daniels and Johnson were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a public housing facility. Johnson was also charged with tampering with physical evidence.
Horton was charged with keeping or maintaining a structure for using, keeping or selling drugs.
On Saturday night, the Street Crimes Unit, using a confidential informant, arrested two suspected drug traffickers.
Arrested were Mary Jo Creech, 32, and her husband David Joseph Creech, 27, of McArthur Avenue, Crestview. Both were charged with trafficking in Hydrocodone. Their 2000 Dodge Durango 4-door truck was impounded.
