News Update, May 9

CRESTVIEW — She cut his hand with a pair of scissors, he punched her in the face, and both were arrested for battery on Laurel Oak Terrace.

That was the result of an argument last week over paying bills, Okaloosa County sheriff's deputies say. A woman said she accidentally cut him with the scissors before he punched her.

The 49-year-old man said he punched her once; she said she had tried to leave the residence but he dragged her back inside and beat her some more, according to an arrest report.

EMS workers treated the man's injuries at the scene while the woman was taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center with blood on her face and clothes.
