Michael H. Fackler Jr.

Man accused of burglarizing Crestview hardware store

A Crestview man accused of burglarizing Crestview Plumbing and Hardware early Monday morning has been arrested.

Michael H. Fackler Jr., 38, of the 200 block of Oakdale Avenue West, has been charged with burglary of a structure, criminal mischief and theft.

Offcers with the Crestview Police Department responded to call at the hardware store on Main Street about 1 a.m. when an alarm went off.

When they arrived, they discovered the front glass window of the business had been broken and observed “blood droplets around the business,” according to a press release.

“Officers later discovered Michael H. Fackler Jr. walking in the area of Booker Street and Martin Luther King, a few blocks south of Crestview Plumbing and Hardware, where he was observed dropping some items that were later determined to be stolen from the business,” the press release states.

Fackler ran from deputies but was caught, according to the press release.

“He was transported to North Okaloosa Medical Center for minor injuries that he sustained from the broken glass at the business,” the release states.

Fackler is in custody at the Okaloosa County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
