Crestview student charged with sexual battery on campus
CRESTVIEW -- A 17-year-old Crestview High School student was arrested Nov. 11, after he was accused of forcing a female student to have sexual intercourse in the men's bathroom.
Sean-Michael Eugene Murphy was charged with sexual battery on a victim over 12 years of age, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.
The victim told investigators that on Oct. 13 she was about to start her second period class when her class went out to the football field for some activities. Murphy told her he wanted to talk to her and the two walked around behind the home bleachers, the report said.
He then grabbed her jacket and forcibly pulled her into the men's bathroom, where he pushed her against a wall, pulled down her clothes and told her to lay down, the report said. She told him no and began to pull her clothes back up, but slipped on some wet paper towels and fell.
Murphy then grabbed her by the ankles and pulled her away from the wall, where he pinned her down. He then forced himself on her as she continued to shout "no," the report said.
He continued to have intercourse with her until he noticed that he was bleeding, when he stopped and tried to clean himself up, as well as the bathroom floor.
The victim had bruising consistent with her story, the report said.
Later that day, Murphy went to the hospial seeking treatment for the injury to his penis, telling the staff he injured himself during football practice, the report said.
The victim went to the Children's Advocacy Center that day, where a doctor confirmed sexual activity had taken place.
The next day, after being informed of his rights, Murphy denied any sexual contact with the victim. He then asked to talk to the deputy again and admitted to the sexual activity but said it was initiated by the victim. He added that he had gotten rid of all of the evidence to the victim could not use it against him, the report said.
He has a Dec. 23 court date.
