Crestview man in serious condition following rollover wreck
WALTON COUNTY -- A 34-year-old Crestview man was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola in serious condition early Sunday morning, after his Chevrolet Tahoe left a rural road and struck several trees.
David E. Mayo was northbound on Hinote Road at about 3:45 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve just north of Deshazo Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release. His car went onto the west shoulder and struck two large pine trees, before rotating, overturning and striking a large oak tree.
Charges are pending, according to the FHP report. Speed was a factor, the report said.
He was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash was not alcohol related.
