Crestview hotel clerk arrested on charge of grand theft
A clerk at a Crestview hotel is accused of stealing more than $300 from the business’ till.
Nicole Lynn Kovala, 19, was arrested on a charge of grand theft in the incident that reportedly occurred last month.
According to a Crestview Police Department arrest report, the manager at the Quality Inn told police Kovala and the money disappeared on Jan. 27.
Kovala was later arrested and told investigators “she took approximately $330 from the cash drawer at Quality Inn,” according to the arrest report.
Kovala was released from the Okaloosa County Jail in a $2,500 bond. She is charged with larceny/theft of more than $300 but less than $5,000 and is scheduled for an initial March 2 court date.
