Crestview man turns himself in; charged with child molestation
A man turned himself into the Crestview Police Department and was charged with lewd or lascivious molestation on Feb. 22.
Shortly before an investigator’s scheduled appointment at the Children’s Advocacy Center regarding a 6-year-old victim, Louis Brian DeLange, 28, came into the police department to turn himself in.
DeLange said he had inappropriately touched the child about seven times since Feb. 2009 until a few months ago when he told his wife about it, the arrest report said.
DeLange told the investigator he had considered suicide and taken his gun out. He showed the officer scars on his wrists from previous attempts.
After requesting a mental health evaluation of DeLange, the officer went to the CAC and met with the victim and the victim’s parent. The child confirmed several sexually abusive acts.
