CRESTVIEW — Becoming the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce’s president brings a “humbling” feeling for Alicia Booker.
Milestones aside, Booker, North Okaloosa Medical Center's physician’s liaison and community programs director, is ready to get to work.
“I’m looking forward to a new year full of lots of focus on our chamber members,” she said. “We are sharing information with each other and helping each other grow to prosperity and success.”
Booker officially took over the reins from Dennis Mitchell during Saturday night’s annual installation and awards dinner at the Crestview Community Center.
“She was an easy choice for us to elect as the incoming president,” Mitchell said. “She is nothing new to the chamber; she has been very successful in running charitable programs.”
As for Mitchell?
“There is always plenty to do,” he said. “I will be there all year long to encourage her. It’s a big job; we have 31 people in leadership positions.”
Chris Daggs, who, with Chamber Executive Director Wayne Harris, served as co-hosts for the sold-out event, said having Booker as president will benefit the chamber.
“She is a starter, networker,” he said. “She is a get-it-done kind of person.”
