“Why run to the border, when you can stay in town.”

That’s the Taco Town motto and one that will soon apply in Baker.

Baker residents will be able to add Taco Town to their choice of eateries when the restaurant opens Oct. 3. The new location is in a former convenience store on State Road 4 south of town.

Owners Stephanie and Curtis Marraco are excited about their new venture.

“We moved from Michigan over a year ago and began learning the ropes while working at my parents Taco Town in Fort Walton Beach,” Stephanie said.

The business will be open six days a week and will offer daily and dinner specials. Hours may later be adjusted according to customers needs.

A Friends and Family Night is planned for Friday, Oct. 2, to thank those that helped the Marracos get established and will serve as a soft opening for employees. Doors will swing open to the public during Saturday’s grand opening.

The Marracos are proud of the fact that all six of their employees are from Baker.

“We wanted to hire local residents that are familiar with the area and at the same time give back to the community,” Stephanie said.
