Suspect caught when police overhear attempt to sell stolen ATV

A Baker man was arrested July 6 and charged with dealing in stolen property after an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy reported hearing the suspect attempt to sell a stolen ATV during a cell phone call.

When the deputy responded to the report of the stolen ATV in Baker, he was flagged down by a man who had just received a call from a someone offering to sell an ATV that matched the make of the stolen item.

The man called the suspect and put him on speakerphone so the deputy could hear. The deputy heard the suspect agree to the man's offer to buy the ATV for $120.

The suspect was on the ATV when it was towed into the man's yard, according to the OCSO incident report.

The suspect admited to trying to sell the ATV, but denied stealing the ATV.
