Single car accident south of Shoal River

A single car traffic accident occurred on State Road 85 just south of the Shoal River bridge at about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
A small red sedan appeared to be traveling in the south bound lane when it left the highway and came to rest in the tree line on the west side of the roadway.
The female driver of the vehicle was ambulatory at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol was on the scene investigating the accident, but has not yet filed a report.
