CRESTVIEW — A man was arrested for punching his father in the face during an argument, even though the father didn’t want him arrested.

Police say a man called in the early morning hours of July 30 to report that his son had struck him in the face during an argument. When officers arrived, he said he didn’t want his son arrested, but only wanted police to “scare” him.

The son had left the home prior to officers getting there, but came back and spoke with police.

The father had apparent redness to his face but refused to allow police to look at it with a flashlight. He was adamant he didn’t want his son arrested, but did tell officers there was a trend of domestic violence between him and his son.

The 25-year-old son was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery.
