CRESTVIEW — A man who was warned he was trespassing on private property asked police to take him to jail because he had nowhere else to go.

Police were called to Publix on July 22 by a manager who said the 53-year-old man had previously been trespassed from the property and had an expired trespass warning. The manager wanted a new one put into effect, according to the Crestview Police Department arrest report.

The man refused to leave the property and said he was aware he had been trespassed from it, but asked the officer to take him to jail “due to him not having anywhere to go.”

The man got his wishes and was taken to jail on a misdemeanor trespassing charge.
