CRESTVIEW – A man who was angry for an unknown reason smacked his female roommate in the face when she asked if he wanted to go fishing.
According to the suspect, his roommates asked if he wanted to go fishing and he told them to (expletive) off. He denied that any physical contact occurred.
The female victim and her boyfriend confirmed that he told her to (expletive) off when she invited him to go fishing. But after she heard some banging and slamming coming from the suspect’s room, she returned to ask if he was OK, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
That’s when he grabbed her by her left arm and smacked her in the face, knocking her to the floor.
He then reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stood outside of his bedroom, threatening to burn the place down.
The victim had marks on her arm and her face that were consistent with her account.
When the 27-year-old suspect was confronted, he denied any contact and then changed his story, accusing her of grabbing him first.
He was charged with battery for the March 19 incident.
