CRESTVIEW – A 17-year-old boy angry that his mom had taken some of his stuff after he refused to clean his room was charged with battery after he forced her bedroom door open to confront her.
His mom told him to stop pushing, but he continued, according to his Crestview Police Department arrest report. She had her cell phone recording the incident.
The officer said he could hear the victim telling her son over and over to step away from the door. He could then hear her screaming hysterically to “get off the door.” The officer reported he could hear the fear in the victim’s voice.
When he interviewed the victim, she was holding her hand as if she’d been hurt, but she refused to provide him with any information.
A witness said the boy was yelling and screaming at his mother and that when she’d get the door closed, he’d force it back open again.
