CRESTVIEW — An investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a Crestview man for viewing and trafficking in child pornography.

On March 8, 35-year-old Nicholas Allen Blain of 2836 Pear Orchard Blvd. was arrested by deputies following an investigation that uncovered hundreds of images and videos of child pornography on Blain’s computer.

According to his OCSO arrest report, authorities began an investigation on Jan. 10 to identify people using peer-to-peer internet software to traffic in child pornography. That led them to an IP address associated with Blain’s home address. Authorities found several files originating from the IP address containing dozens of images each, depicting girls between the ages of 5 and 15 years old in various states of undress. In many of the images, adult men were performing sexual acts on the young girls or forcing the girls to perform sexual acts on them.

A search warrant for Blain’s home was executed on March 8. Investigators interviewed Blain, during which he admitted to using Bit Torrent to download and distribute child pornography.

According to his arrest report, during his interview, Blain said his laptop computer would contain the images and videos he downloaded. Investigators searched the computer and found the images he described.

Blain was arrested on 19 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of obscene communication and one count of using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony. As of Friday morning, he was being held in the Okaloosa County Jail without bond, awaiting a hearing.
