CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Department seeks a suspect in connection with a Jan. 16 nighttime robbery of a local liquor store.

Police responded to the Cash’s Crest liquor store and lounge at 1675 Ferdon Blvd. S. around 8 p.m. in response to a hold-up alarm activation. The cashier told responding officers that she had been robbed at gunpoint around 7:58 p.m.

The cashier described the alleged robber as a black male, "normal" build, dressed in black, who came around the counter and pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at her as she emerged from the store’s office.

"She also remembered the suspect’s ‘baggy’ pants allowed her to see his gray underpants," the incident report stated. "She recalled the underpants were normal briefs, not boxers."

The robber demanded the cashier place the money from the cash register in a Wal-Mart shopping bag he provided. He then ran out the front door and headed south.

A review of security video showed the robber wore a mask and black gloves while committing the crime.

A Crestview Police K9 unit responded to the scene, found the robber’s trail and tracked him to a nearby Brookmeade Drive residence, where the resident permitted officers to check the house for a possible intruder. None was found. Officers believe the robber may have parked a car in the area and drove off after robbing the liquor store.

The robbery remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crestview Police Department’s Investigations Division, 682.4157.
