FORT WALTON BEACH — Okaloosa County's 32nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration is preparing to kick off with the New Year.
Individuals can participate in honoring King through several events in January.
The events are as follows:
Oratorical and Art Contest

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Program

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Okaloosa County Parade/March
The parade features a grand marshal (based on their community service), floats, winners of the art and oratorical contest, Color Guard, several community organizations, churches and the entire community.When: Jan. 15, 8 a.m. Where: The march begins at the Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium, 107 U.S. 98, Fort Walton Beach The march ends at Fort Walton Beach High School, 400 Hollywood Blvd SW, Fort Walton Beach. After the parade will be an After-Rally Celebration. The participants in the parade will be shuttled from Fort Walton Beach High School (where the parade ends) to Chester Pruitt Park to enjoy food, games, prizes, moon bounce, cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, fire department participation, health screenings and more.
