Lockport Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade: The 25th annual Lockport Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade will be held as following. Tree Lighting – Lockport Bayou Side Park, 6:30 p.m., Dec. 1. It will include the lighting of Christmas decorations throughout the park. Santa Clause and Frosty visit all children arriving by fire boat in Bayou Lafourche. Every child 12 and under will receive a gift from Santa. There will be fresh-cooked kettle corn, hot dogs with homemade fireman’s chili, and soft drinks will be provided by the Lockport Volunteer Fire Department. The Christmas Parade through the streets of Lockport will take place at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 2. The parade begins on Church Street and travels through the streets of Lockport, ending back at its starting point. The parade consists of numerous throwing floats, marching bands, vehicles and, of course, no one other than Santa Claus and Frosty.
