CRESTVIEW — A school bus driver was charged with careless driving after colliding with a vehicle at a stop sign Monday morning.
According to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:27 a.m. at the intersection of Earl Kennedy Road and Okaloosa Lane.
Joel McGraw, 62, of Crestview was traveling south on Okaloosa Lane in a 2016 school bus with 42 students on board.
At the same time, 36-year-old Monica Martinez-Garcia of Crestview was traveling west on Earl Kennedy Road in a 2014 Kia Optima and stopped at a stop sign at road's intersection with Okaloosa Lane.
McGraw attempted to negotiate a turn onto Earl Kennedy Road and failed to see the Kia at the stop sign. The bus traveled into the opposite travel lane, causing the left side of the bus to collide with the left front fender of the Kia, the release said.
There were no injuries from the crash.
Okaloosa County Emergency Medical Services screened both drivers and all bus passengers for possible injuries.
