CHIPLEY — North and southbound traffic north of Coy Burgess Loop and southbound traffic just south of I-10 in Walton County will be shifted to new lanes Wednesday, Oct. 18 around 7 p.m. Similar traffic shifts in this area will occur over the next month as crews reconstruct existing lanes.
This work is part of the $48 million U.S. 331 construction project that includes expanding the existing road to four lanes, adding drainage and safety improvements and placing new roadway signs and pavement markings. The estimated completion date is winter 2018.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area and to use caution, especially at night, when driving in work zones.
