CRESTVIEW – An inmate at the Okaloosa County Jail made his situation worse when he swung his smock at the sprinkler in his medical cell, breaking it.

A correctional officer was watching at the time.

When the sprinkler head broke, water flooded the cell.

The sprinkler head cost $15 to replace, according to the 19-year-old inmate’s arrest report.

His action added a felony charge of preventing or obstructing extinguishment of fire to his list of offenses, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
