NICEVILLE  — A 25-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries after crashing her personal watercraft over Labor Day weekend.

According to Bekah Nelson, spokeswoman for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, 25-year-old Shelby Wagner of Crestview was riding her 11-foot 2016 SeaDoo around 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, when she hit pilings at the Rocky Bayou Bridge.

Wagner was accompanied by 57-year-old Richard Thompson on a second personal watercraft. Both Thompson and a Good Samaritan carried Wagner to the boat ramp at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park, where she was then driven to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center by EMS, Nelson said.

Wagner was treated for injuries to the head and knee and was released.
