CRESTVIEW — An officer waiting in the drive-through at Taco Bell smelled more than Mexican food.
After noticing a strong smell of marijuana emitting from the vehicle in front of him, he conducted an investigative traffic stop. As he approached the car, the smell was “overwhelming,” he noted in the driver’s Crestview Police Department arrest report.
The 20-year-old Holt man said he had recently smoked marijuana, which is why the officer noticed the smell.
The officer searched the car, finding one illegal pill, a bundle of cash, prescription cough syrup and marijuana residue. He also found another bundle of cash on the driver, who advised that he didn’t know how much money he had but it might have been $5,000, the report said.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
