Saturday through Wednesday a few thunderstorms may become strong to severe with strong, gusty winds, frequent lightning and localized ponding of water on roads and low-lying areas.

It's going to be a wet, and potentially stormy, weekend across the Emerald Coast, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

While Friday will be warm and partly sunny, with the temperature climbing into the mid-80s, the following five days are expected to be wet with a chance of thunderstorms daily.

NWS is reporting in a Hazardous Weather Outlook that Saturday through Wednesday a few thunderstorms may become strong to severe with strong, gusty winds, frequent lightning and localized ponding of water on roads and low-lying areas.

It also was noted that a front will move over the area Wednesday. A few strong to severe storms are expected with damaging winds the primary threat.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southeast wind around 10 mph.

Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Sunday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
