Christopher Allen Dreading is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl after giving her Xanax and beer at Duggan Park south of Crestview.

CRESTVIEW — A Crestview man wanted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office on charges he sexually assaulted a teenage girl last month is now in custody.

Christopher Allen Dreading, 29, was arrested Sunday as he got into a car in a business’s parking lot on Highway 90. He was charged with felony sexual battery with weapon or force, according to his OCSO arrest report.

Dreading is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl after giving her Xanax and beer at Duggan Park south of Crestview. Numerous tips helped aid in Dreading’s capture, according to an OCSO press release.

According to his arrest report, Dreading's stepmother, Deloris Dixon, was bringing his girlfriend to his tent at a wooded lot off of Panagra Lane in Crestview on April 23. Shortly after she dropped her off, Dixon heard the girlfriend yell, "Who is this b---- in my tent?" Dixon then got out of her vehicle and walked over to the tent and saw a young female under the covers.

Dixon had kicked her stepson out of the house for using narcotics, the report said.

The teenage victim appeared to be under the influence, slurring her words and unstable on her feet, Dixon told OCSO. Dixon stated the girl told her that Dreading had sexually assaulted her.

The victim was taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center, where she was found to have bruises around her neck, inner thighs and vaginal tearing.

On April 24, the victim gave an interview to Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center. She said that Dreading had picked her up around 10 p.m. April 22 in a cab down the street from her residence. She thought they were going to help her friend.

The cab dropped her and Dreading off at Duggan Park. Dreading gave the victim a Xanax and four margarita beers, according to her statement. They also went to the bathroom to snort ICE. The victim stated Dreading began sexually assaulting her and at one point made her go down to the river where he began choking her and holding her under the water while he assaulted her again.

The victim said they got in another cab and went to WalMart where Dreading bought the victim new clothes and took the clothing she was wearing. The victim said she woke up in a tent with Dreading on top of her. She stated that she repeatedly told him to stop and that he was hurting her, the report said.

On April 25, OCSO reviewed cameras from Duggan Park and saw Dreading and the juvenile go into the women's bathroom around 1:30 a.m. the night they were in the park.
