CRESTVIEW — A man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the buttocks outside Robert's Mobile Home Park on East James Lee Boulevard.

Demone Edward Blackman, 42, who lives at the mobile home park, has been arrested in connection with the stabbing.

According to a report from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the victim, a 42-year-old man from Crestview, visited the mobile home park late Monday to ask about a job. Blackman told the victim the person he was looking for was not home, so the victim turned around to leave.

As he was leaving, he yelled out to a friend, but Blackman left his home and asked if the man was talking to him and if he had a problem. According to the victim, Blackman then told him he "had something for him," proceeded to come down a ramp and struck the victim in the mouth and dislodged four teeth, according to the Sheriff's Office.

As the man tried to run away, Blackman stabbed him in the buttocks with an unknown object. The victim defecated on himself and went home to clean up before he realized the wound was so deep it had perforated his bowel. He went to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment, where he was listed in critical condition Tuesday.

Deputies went back to the mobile home park and arrested Blackman after the victim identified him in a lineup.

Blackman was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail on felony charges of second-degree aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
