The change will take effect on May 11.
ST. PETERSBURG — The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced a change to the Gulf of Mexico king mackerel fishery, and this time it is in the fishermen’s favor.
NOAA announced the bag limit for king mackerel in the Gulf will increase from two fish to three fish per day this year. The change is based on a review of the most recent population assessment.
The change will take effect May 11, 2017.
